The hills of Nelson seem to nestle the city and the bay.
I have become intrigued by the hills and what they provide for us and the patterns and colours within them.
We enjoy, live and play on them,
they provide us with shelter and warmth,
and a place to view our city and sea.
They lift us into the sun.

They are our Maunga (high place) from where we are nurtured.

The green hills become vivid and stricking in the sun, in contrast to the shadows and everpresent sea.

This collection of drawings has created a new body of work in response to my fascination of the sun on our land and sea.
