Personal circumstances prevented Wanda Tait from painting until she had reached middle age, she says.
"I'm sure the excitement and challenges are no less than that of a young person starting out."
She paints the hills on which she has always walked and tramped – "the gentler hills on our farms and in our everyday surroundings.
"I'm trying to awaken in viewers something that will give a new take on our immediate environment, perhaps something we take for granted.
"I hope to encompass that beauty by giving it attention, space and quiet – not sentimental, not sensational, but the passion nevertheless."
