Anne Rush's Profile

Nelson Artist Anne Rush had persued her artistic career seriously since 1983. Her works are in private collections nationally and internatinally.

She was a founder of the Nelson Bays Arts Marketing Network and received a MNZM for Services to the Arts in the New Year's Honours in 2004.

In recent years, she has become well known for her lily creations, painstakingly formed from handmade harekeke paper, bamboo, stainless steel wire, wood, linen thread and pumice.

The lily's represent Anne's exploration of painterly surfaces and scultured form and: "a search for the human spirit in an uncertain world," while exploring shadow and light.
